The Ingram/Elstad family is very near and dear to my heart! On September 21, 2006, Annette and David’s son Caleb was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), which is a cancerous tumor within the brain stem. Due both to its location in the brain stem, as well as it’s form (being everywhere), it was not operable. This began Caleb’s 10-month journey, a most blessed and holy experience for all of us who knew him.  He went home to the arms of Jesus on August 3, 2007.  ”He is Healed!” For more about Caleb and his journey you may visit the family’s web page here if you wish: http://www.ingram-family.net/caleb.htm

Caleb’s sister Natashia is one of my very best friends and I have come to love and admire her and her family and the strength, hope, faith, and love that they continue to share with each other and other families affected by DIPG. They are such an inspiration to many!

In October, while visiting two of my cousins in NYC and DC, I paid a visit to Annette in Bristow, VA. Annette asked me to photograph some of Caleb’s favorite things and I was absolutely delighted and honored to do so. She took me around the battle field that is across the way from their home.  While walking around the battle field to get an idea of how I would photograph these things we came across what Annette and I considered a sign of Caleb Joshua there amongst us. In the dirt path we found this written below our feet!

Here are a few of the photographs taken of sweet Caleb’s favorite things and the beautiful scenery our Mighty God has created:

At the end of December, my Grandma, aunt Elaine, aunt Cecelia, my cousin Ansley, and I all travelled to Houston to surprise my Aunt Denese for her birthday and spend time with the her and my five cousins! We arrived at 4am, put on our goofy Santa hats and sang Silent Night while walking up the stairs and jingling bells all the way into her bedroom! She was totally shocked and maybe a little frightened, but we spent a fun 4 days playing games, making sock animals, and loving on each other! While I was there I photographed my cousin, Chris, who will graduate from A&M in May and my cousin, Lauren, who is a senior at Kingwood High School! The pictures turned out great and as always, it was nice to shoot in a new place for a change of scenery!

Welcome to my blog! I will soon begin to post my favorites photos from recent sessions and update you on the events in my life! Stay tuned!!
